Decorating ideas

Anyone any ideas for decorating a 12 year old boys bedroom, obviously he has outgrown the likes of thomas the tank engine and harry potter etc and he isn't a football/sport fan but he is big in to computers. Its quite a large room with two big windows with wooden venetian blinds and a laminate floor. Oh and he is hoping for a new circular bed, if ikea still has them. Any thoughts much appreciated

I agree. Brown and creame's are in and he will prob still like it when he's 20. Unless you have kicked him out by then. I had a blue room about 3 years ago and now im 18 i want it changing again.

well i am not much older then your son.from my friends that are boys bedrooms that i have been in in my time most are still out of date and with that sort of scheme that you suggest he is too old for. your right! The other people that have commented on a beige and brown (earthy tones) well all i say is dont! I myself have this decoration in my bedroom. ive had it for 3 years or so now and my friends all seem to have the same scheme. You wont understand how incredibly boring it is! there is hardly any le-way to introduce colours into the room apart from duckegg blue.i now want to redecorate my room to a black and white scheme and i think your son would probably quite like this himself! it leaves alot of room for different colours to go with the scheme and is very 'trendy!' soften the look with colour fabrics or less bold patterns but whatever you do do NOT paint the walls black. a soft cream or white mayb even grey (very in fashion) would work best. hope this helps! xxxx (p.s. i think brown is goin out of fashion in couple of years)

he had brown and cream before but we went with your advice and have refreshed it with a circular bed and a glass desk - very contemporary
