Estate Agents
9 Answers
Hi
I would like to give my estate agents a gift to say thank you for all their help in my recent house move and was just wondering how many people do actually buy their estate agents something.
I dont want to get them chocs because if alot of people buy them chocs they are probably fed up with them by now.
So do you do this and, Any ideas on what else I can get?are my 2 questions!
Thanks

Even though you don't want to give chocolates, they never go wrong, and would probably be shared throughout the office, or how about a bottle of bubbly, wouldn't have to be expensive, sparkling wine even, after all it's just a token of appreciation.
But yes, i think that's a lovely thought, especially if the service they provided was exceptionally good.

Thanks Rhona J, I suppose that chocs are the best thing really as they can share them out, I just thought with Easter coming up they may not want more chocs. I do like the bubbly idea though, will have a look.
They have been exceptionally good, it is our first house together so I have been asking alot of questions about the process and they have been brilliant.
Thanks again

Its not very often that estate agents get a pat on the back, mostly criticism is sent their way. Some it deserved , some not. Last time we sold a house, our selling agent, really worked hard finding a buyer, and within a fortnight secured one, a few weeks later, surveys done and nearing exchange our buyers dropped out. We stood to lose our purchase. Our agents again excelled and within a week new buyers were secured. The buyers informed us that they hadn't been interested when shown the details, but fell in love with the property when viewed. The agents really pushed it, as well worth a look. They are still living there after 12 years. Obviously, we were ecstatic, we dropped a large bouquet and a bottle of champagne into the agents office by way of saying thanks. Just think how much money we could have saved by just giving them a card. Drat.
I couldn't bring myself to buy them something as I have a distrust of them here in London.
To me they are just an avenue by which to advertise your house, they don't actually sell anything and once someone has agreed to buy they move all thier energies into the next one.
After all, they are just doing thier jobs its just that emotions are involved when buying houses.
So, Alibobs is right, your commission would be enough.. I don't buy the guys at eBay a present when I sell something on there.
