does spiders in the uk jump and bite

a few people had some bites on them over the last few days in the office. I found a spider today that jumps and is quite small with 8 legs. It has a yellow stripe on the abdomen. Could this have been what has bitten the people....I was told spiders dont jump...but have seen it jump and told they dont bite

I am unsure about the jumping but I know that we do have spiders that bite, my mum was bitten in the garden last summer and it did swell quite considerably. I can't remember if the spider had any distinctive marking like the one you have seen but I suppose I'm biased anyway, I hate the things! Having that many legs is just plain wrong in my book!

Could be a wolf spider, they can jump. try google for an image.

My boyfriend felt something on his leg the other month when he was just about to shower he looked down to see a spider on his leg so he flicked it off. Ever since he has had three big bites on his leg which have marked his leg terrible.
