Removing marks on things - ceramic and wood

A steel toothmug left a rust mark on side of the sink. Anyone know how to remove this?
It's a normal ceramic one. The marks aren't that major but they are visible and I can't scrub them off!

And the other marks are hot / wet mug marks on the coffee table. It's not varnished, just treated. Any solutions for this one as well?

If its a normal sink, it soundslike the rust has got into hairline cracks or small interstices in the glaze. I have had success by mixing milton with a little washing up liquid. Milton bleaches, and the detergent breaks down surface tension and allows the milton to flow into the little spaces. leave overnight then wipe off. If it does any godd thermn repeat till clean then clean whole sink and apply one of those car paint body sealer polishes or rain x to seal the surface. the sealing will need re doing avery month or two but it does make ceramic bathroom fittings easier to keep clean DO NOT USE ON FLOORS OR BATHS AS IT IS VERY SLIPPERY

What is your table treated with? Mine is waxed sheeesham wood and every month or so I go over the marks with beeswax polish, putting it on sparingly, leaving for 5 minutes then buffing off repeat till marks are gone for those of you who have just read my last 2 posts, I do have a life as well...honestly and I don't own any pinnies or pink angora cardigans

I had to let our butler go, but the way they removed white ring stains in the big houses was to mix a small amount of cigarette ash with a good vegetable oil and rub gently till the mark disappears. This is for dark wood , although I use it on everything. For light wood rub with a Brazil nut. This really does work like magic!
