Laburnum Tree

I planted a Laburnum tree last year in late March, and after only producing 2 flowers, the leaves turned yellow and fell off after a couple of months. Unfortunately I have poor drainage in the garden, and for some of the winter the soil was waterlogged. The tree has healthy looking buds on, but has still not started to produce any leaves. Other Laburnums in the area have leaves and have started producing the buds for flowers by now. Please can you advise whether this is normal for a tree in its first year after planting, or whether I have planted in too wet soil? If so, is there any way to rectify the soil without disturbing the tree, or is it too late to remove the tree either to a different position or plant in a large pot? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Please help?!

Hey jude, Unfortunately laburnum are not trees that are recomended for badly drained soil. If you have an area that drains better, I think that would be favorite !

They are certainly beautiful tree when in full bloom.
Are you aware that every part of the tree is poisonous, particularly the seeds. Good Luck Tbird+
