We have just had two power showers installed (by a plumber)
and like you have mains cold water and hot from a tank.
A 3.0 bar salamander pump was used (from screwfix) which feeds both showers and it does the job well. I am afraid I don't understand negative or positive head pressure. This never seemed to be an issue when I ordered it on my plumbers behalf.

Get onto the Screwfix site or phone them. They may be able to advise you.
Good luck.

Thank you for your answer. Does the salamander pump the cold water as well or just the hot?
Yes, it pumps hot and cold seperatly to both showers where the mixers are.
If you have mains cold to the bathroom and tank fed hot water you need a venturi shower have a looky here http://www.trevishowers.co.uk/trevi_products/m ixer_showers/trevi_boost.html

Thanks for the link. That looks a good option. I will look into that and get my mains tested at different times of the day to see how the pressure varies (its got to stay above 1.5 bar for the booster to work)
