How can I help my pathetic mate?
9 Answers
My friend (thirtysomething) is always moaning and bleating to me about how he can't get a girlfriend.
He has tried singles clubs, to no avail. He has tried speed dating and failed.
In pubs, if I've seen girls at another table and suggested we join them, he would chicken out and say he has to sort it out himself.
One night, in a club, he won a 'blind date' event. He just vanished and left the building. He later confessed to me that nerves had got the better of him.
He is clearly terrified of women. I don't know how to help him any more. Any suggestions?

maybe set yourselves a target of chatting to women (any whether he likes them or not) so he can build up his patter a bit, it will make him less fearful of approaching women. is their any women where he works that he could chat too?, also there are lots of online dating sites where he could meet women without feeling intimidated.
he has to overcome his nerves or he will never meet anyone! especially if he does a runner!!

How about an evening class at college?
Theres a mid-thirties bloke in my psychology class, hes really quiet and shy but gets loads of attention from us girlies as hes the only man in the class. Sadly we are all married but its a good place to meet someone with the same interests.
Since starting last Sept he has also enrolled on the odd day class, including Indian Head massage (full of younger birds!)

Tell him to build his confidence via dating sites etc.....
You find it so much easier to talk to people on line etc ...
I was recommeded face party and plenty of fish and I have profiles on both of them ( being a single girl!)
It's a nice confidence boost when people mail u and are interested in you , and its without all the nerves behind it . And he can scope people out via msn etc first before he decides if he would ever venture to meet them !
Let me knows how he gets on!!!
