Neighbour Tree Blocking light to my Garden
My Neighbour has a large evergreen tree about 10 metres tall which in the mid to late afternoon blocks most of the sun to my garden. I am now spending more time in the garden with my young daughter and have realised just how much light this tree does block and would like it pruned. I do know that the tree would not be a protected tree as it is an evergreen.
I thought there was a law that if the tree is over 2metres tall then we could ask for it to be cut down. Am I correct with this or completely off track?

I'm afraid as buildersmate implies you're thinking of the high hedge legislation. That only applys to hedges which are defined as one or more trees with overlapping branches.
Unfortunately as people have smaller and smaller gardens a large tree can be just as much a nuisance but it's not covered by the act
