Lost House Deeds!

Family home been ours for 71years never sold on. House deeds lost and Land Registry say NO record of registration of property. Solicitor advised but not working fast enough to get info as far as we are concerned!! Need to sell property before 1st June 2007. What are provisos? We do not have proof of ownership only photographic evidence (ie family photos in and outside house) 16 other houses in cul de sac and house joined to ours next door has deeds etc. We need written proof. Can anyone HELP please?
