what forms are needed to send items from the states to the uk,my friend wants to send me a garment but it has been refused as it hasnt the right paperwork

Well I am not quite sure what the problem is I send things from the States to UK all the time and there is not a problem usually there is a tiny slip of paper that you just put 'gift' or something. Where is your friend taking it to ??

Didn't the US post office tell her? She'd certainly need a US customs form attached to the package, available at the post office, that's all.

we found out that it was a cn 22 form that was needed,apparently the way mail is sent from the us to the uk has changed and shipping it now isnt an option,it all has to be by air,thanks anyway !
