If you're talking about the glossy style work counters, then I found that every time I wiped them over with a wet cloth, I would also have to dry them with some kitchen roll otherwise it would look really smeary. Hope that helped.

sootie - wet a soft cloth with normal ratio washing up liquid to water, squeeze out, wipe over surface & buff up with a soft duster cloth.
