Ive read you can buy a silicone remover which softens the sealant. Ive not seen this i will look next time in B&Q.
Hi Kathyan,
Is it a plastic bath or a cast iron one?
you can use a stanley blade even on plastic IF U R careful but better still is to buy some silicon eater. Try screwfix .co.uk or a diy store this gets it of though you may need a couple of applications.

It's plastic! I'll give it a go with the blade first and if that doesn't work I'll get some softener. Thanks guys.
There is a product widely available called Silicone Eater.
Removes silicone from anything without adverse affects.

Quite easy to use.
Use white spirit with a 'brillo pad' after the razor blade if you are reapplying sealant. I'm too tight for silicone eater !
