extending into the eves?

I have an old cottage which has had a loft conversion to make a second bedroom previously to myself buying the property, at the moment it is a standard loft conversion with upright partition walls closing off the eves. I wish to extend a section of one of the walls back into the eves to create an angled alcove for more storage, am I allowed to do this within the building regulations for loft conversions?

The only problem I can see it that of fire proofing, you should find the floor is a certain thickness to protect as a fire break, make sure this continues to the edge of the room and you have the edge silled. I take it the water tank has not been moved behind the stud wall you wish to remove !

no there is nothing located behind the stud wall, and i was just going to use the same spec of chip board flooring( the stuff you get in B+Q for lofts) to run it all the way into the corner, but it is more the building regs that I am concerned about if I decide to sell up soon, I am sure I have read that the walls have to be a certain height and if I am removing one of them am I going against the regs? I was hoping a builder or someone who has done a loft conversion could inform me, are you a builder by chance?

Eves=eaves=section of roof projecting beyond the external wall. It is not safe for anyone to give you advise without knowledge of your cottage and details of the scheme you propose. Prepare a simple sketch of what is there at the moment and what you propose to do and take it along to your area Building Control Officer, they are very pleasant and helpful people.
