Just a query from my Husband. He successfully grows tomatoes in the greenhouse every year but the plants this year have put out a lot more foliage than usual and he would like to know how much to remove if there is a guideline to follow.every other branch etc? Many thanks
there is a site somewhere on google where a top american grower advocates removal of all leaves up to the hairy ones near the flowers, his logic is to grow tomatos not leaves.
i am trying it on three plants and so far alls well.
a minor plus is the uptake of water is much less.
well see
Nip out the shoots that sprout between established "branches" and the main stem. This will ensure sturdy growth for the remaining plant. Plenty of water and controlled feed!
