homebase................................ without a shadow of doubt!!!!
They are all crap, supposed to be cheap, what a joke never use any of them. they exploit people that haven't got a clue.
I dont like homebase either. I bought 3 different lots of door handles from there and the screws broke in all of them,

I get most of my stuff from screwfix and sometimes B&Q.
if im not wrong...screwfix is owned by B&Q?
Question Author
I brought a wooden chair from Homebase.
I put it up exactly as in the instructions.
I went to sit down on it and it fell apart!!
I hit myself quite hard on the wreck and had a near miss with sitting on one of the screws.
Funnily enough, our Homebase isn't too bad. It's our B&Q that I loathe.
You are right ruge, screwfix is now owned by the B&Q chain, wonder how long it will be before they go down the pan, I buy a lot from them and the service is superb as are most of the prices.
hey ray, screwfix are apparently doing very well. They are opening stores all over the place and keeping the prices as low as they were when it was just the trade type warehouses. I think they are gonna wipe the board with the normal DIY stores.

Screwfix and B&Q are all part of the woolworths, superdrug chain.
Homebase is overpriced (weird as it is being bought out by Argos)

Wickes is just plan dog poo. Limited stock. Utter cr@p.

B&Q is by far the best store, but the staff need adequate traing as they know fack all!

Screwfix.....very good! Need to open more stores in order to be number 1

Most of them are cr4p. Want plumbing stuff go to a plumbing shop. Want electrics, go to a electricians. etc etc.

Go to a specialist rather than a jack of all trades shop. You will also get good advice from people who specialize in what they sell.

Probably cheaper too.
i can vouch for that!!!................ i sell sheds ,concrete garages and fencing................... i can look at these items in a multi outlet and it makes me cringe looking at the quality compared to the price!!! people save a packet coming to me!!!
b& q at plympton devon its crap and when you ask stuff where something is there like uhuh dont kown ????????? figure
Srewfix are brilliant.I bought a bathroom suite for a 100 less than all the other DIYS .Plus free delivery.(online)..(:O)
