How can I deal with evil cat?
1 Answers
My problem is thus..i got my friend a lovely little kitten four years ago and she has turned into the pet from hell. I'm moving in with said friend later this year and need some strategies to either tame or assert to the cat that we are dominant and not she.
The cat has only ever lived with friend (since she was 9 weeks, never been abused, only ever loved and indulged - part of the problem i think) and was not socialised to other people when she was little. She also believes that she is 'alpha' in the house and acts accordingly. Whenever anyone visits she will stalk them and attack them, wait for round every corner to bite them, come and sit near you on the sofa and then attempt to rip your eyes out. SHe is quite loving to my friend but more often than not attacks him also. he doesn't really see anything wrong with his and he tries to tell her off but she ignores him (typical cat!). She can't be picked up but recently advances have been made due to her being spade and she is now allowed into the back garden. I thought this might chilll her out a bit but no, shes still totally evil.
Now, i refuse to let my life be dominated by the foul creature and being an animal lover wish to move in with them both and for us all to get along harmoniously. She clearly needs some sort of training and i'm kind of stuck for how to do it.
I am thinking of investing in some oven gloves and trying to stroke her, so if she attacks me i can pin her down, and also the spray water bottle technique.
Does anyone have any info that i can realistically use to subdue her and get her to start behaving like a pet and not a mental patient. And how long do you think it will take ntil she understands she can't go on behaving this way.
Help!
