Not quite motoring but can't think where else to put this question!

The dust cap on the front wheel of my bike is stuck. I just can't budge it to pump up the tyre. It's not mis-thread, just jammed. How can i get it off?!

try squirting WD40 at the base of the screw threads leave for a few seconds and unscrew
you might also need to use pliers to grip the dust cap off
ps make sure the dust cap is at the top of the wheel so as the WD40 can run down the thread
use mole grips on it,but not too tight as to damage it.

I had this problem with my car, nothing would loosen it, I very carefully used a junior hacksaw to cut the cap length ways to get it off but be carefull not to damage the valve stem.
A proper penetrating oil will free it. Plus Gas rather than WD40. It may take a hour or so to seep in.
get your mum to take it off. !!! just don't say you'd loosened it when she gets it off !!!
