Does anyone have personal experience of these ? I saw one advertised in Woolies, from JML, you just plug it in and it is claimed to deter rats, mice, cockroaches, etc.

I've had mice a couple of times under the floor, which does not bother me per se except for the risk to electric cables.

My friend had mice in the pantry. She tried one and it didn't work so she had to resort to the good old trap. You know you've got them when you use a trap!
I used to have about 50 citronella candles throughout the house. But then i brought a spider repella, and problem solved.

I think the idea is that they are effective at deterrence but will not shift an existing infestation.

When I had mice, I caught them with chocolate in a humane trap and released them 3 miles away (too close and they simply return)
never worked when I tried
When we moved into this house (in the woods) my son said he saw a mouse in the kitchen. We didn't so accused him of being squiffy and seeing things. That was 6 months ago. Now this weekend my son gleefully pointed out a tiny mouse floating dead in a bucket of water in the garden. We all went aaahhh poor thing - just wanted a drink and drowned.

Until later when my hubby gave me a kit kat which had been on the, mostly unused, dining table for a couple of days. I instantly saw it had been substantially nibbled on. I looked on the table and sure enough tiny bits of silver paper and a few bits of mouse poo.

So I think he gorged on the choccy, staggered out thru the french doors (usually open) gagging for a drink and fell in, too full to do anything about it.

Get a few bars in and see how you get on.
