Dry Verge Systems

Hi there I don't know if anybody can help me with this one but I hope somebody can because its begining to drive me mad.
Last year I had our house completely re-roofed as part of our extension, I had Marley Modern tiles fitted and a dry verge system installed. The dry verge fits directly onto the face brick of the house.
When it rains for some reason the water spills off the dry verge and drips down the walls this happens in random places around the gable end of the house, when I say random I mean, its always in the same place but at different hieghts ie on one gable it near the top then part way down on another gable its at the bottom.
Does anybody have any ideas why this could be happening. Your views would be appreciated cause the dripping off the dry verge onto the window sill is keeping me awake at night.
PS I tackled the roofing contractor about this and he was about as much use as a chocolate teapot, so I figured I better have a go myself.

Hi Broadie451
Spoke to hubby about your problem.
It would depend if it was a dry verge cover or a dry edge tile that was put on. If it is the cover, the chances are it has not been fitted correctly.
If it is a PVC dry verge cover, then there could be a problem with the brackets. I would get the contractor back.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Cruella,
the dry verge is the individual type that "clip" onto the tile in affect. I know where your coming from when you say get the contractor back but I don't have any faith in the quality of his workmanship. I know that this may seem extreme but if I contacted him it would just lead to a string of missed appointments and more shoddy work.
Does you husband think if I fitted facia board to the brickwork before refitting the dry verge that this may help the situation. I understand the by fitting the facia that I would have to extend the battons and I think marley did a kit for this kind of application.
Anyway thanks very much for your help.
Cruella's Hubby here.

Sounds like you have got a problem, if you think about it when it rains because of gravity what should happen is the rain should drain off the bottom edge of the dry verge. if you are getting rain dripping in places other than that I would strongly suggest before you attempt anything you have a qualified person check. The reason for this is I suspect you have water ingress behind the Pvc caps due to incorrect fitting. This can be a serious problem if left any length of time. Personally, I would never install dry verge caps. All they do is hide problems and are more trouble than they are worth. Please dont panic about this if it is a simple fitting problem which it sounds like then it is easy remedied.
all the best.
