Microwave - Grill Rack
6 Answers
I have just bought a combi microwave oven (Sanyo). I can't stand my in-built oven and thought it would be perfect for my small meals. However, I can't find out - even from reading the instructions, whether the grill rack that comes with it can be used in with the microwave part of the functionality or just the grill - or both. Any ideas?

Oursget used a lot for frozen pizzas, the pizza is placed on the (metal) tray which sits on the (metal) rack so that it is near the grill. Press the `pizza` button once for frozen (or can be twice for chilled + three time for ambient), turn knob for weight of pizza, press go and it starts (telling you time it will take) it automatically brings the grill part into use at the right time.
It also has a setting for just grill.

This from the FAQs for Microwave Ovens at the SANYO website...
"As a general rule you are advised not to place metal objects in a microwave oven when microwave cooking. However there are exceptions. If a utensil has been supplied by the manufacture specifically for this purpose then you can be sure it is suitable for use in the way recommended in the instruction book. Similarly small quantities of foil can be used, provided the instructions are followed.
It is important however that there is no contact between two metal items, such as grill rack and metal drip tray, or foil and oven wall, or arcing may occur."
