Is there such a thing as a bug who would eat the labels from the disinfectant bottles I store by my back door? I keep it there as it is handy to spray when needed and the labels keep going missing !! I know there is an indoor variety of beetle that eats paper but outdoor?

Bugs eat everything!!! It could also be wasps. Or they could just get wet and rot.

bimbo123456 thanks for that, I haven't seen any wasps ( lucky me ) but they could be around. My bottles are in an open porch and the labels are almost gone overnight ! I shall be looking out for bugs now .
Are those the labels you stick on yourself? It could be they just fall off and blow away when the glue is dry.
Another possibility could be birds building a late nest. Paper is a popular media to line the nest.

hello wildwood, no they are not made by me, they come on the Jeyes fluid bottles !! The first time I noticed it I just thought it strange and meant to ask my husband whyhe had taken the label off the bottle !! This time however my husband is not here and yet the phantom label thief has struck again !! Most weird.
It could also be slugs or snails. They eat paper - d'you see any small, black droppings nearby?
Question Author
HI kleiber, I have not noticed droppings at all, there are slugs and snails that come out nearby though. so they may be the culprits eh? I shall keep watch !!
