Housing Associaton and vermin, duty of care, obligations
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
Imagine I am a tenent and I live in a flat leased to me by a housing association. If I suffer a problem relating to vermin i.e. mice, would I have a potential claim against the housing association for any damage caused to my property, by the mice. What obligations rest with the housing associaton to provide homes free from pests. Is there any relevant enviromental health legislation that prescribes the duty of care owed by the housing association? Would the duty of care be prescribed by the tenancy agreement alone?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The council nor any other landlord cannot guarantee there will never be a vermin infestation - this usually occurs because of circumstances beyond the landlord's control.
So, you want to claim compensation from the council for your mice infestation Have they dealt with it?
What are your losses? How have you suffered? Is any loss or suffering directly caused by the council?
