Hey, I'm about to do the craziest thing of my entire life and buy my girlfriend an engagement ring. God help me. However, she's Canadaian (had to go back a few weeks back, I'll be joining her over there on Nov,. 5th) And so, Canadian ring sizes are based on numbers. I didn't know that until I tried ordering her ring. Lucky the website is unable to ship 5 and a half rings! Otherwise I'd be seriously out of pocket. Anyway, after putting quantity back to 1, I look for sizes, and realise they are alphabetical.

So my question to you guys is, where can I find a conversion table to tell me the size in UK sizes? I've looked on google but I get nothing but bleeding ebay adverts. She's a 5 1/2 in Canadian sizes, anyone know the size in the UK? Would appreciate any help in securing my life sentence, cheers!

According to wikipedia a canadian 5 1/2 is a K 1/2 in the UK.

Does she have tiny hands because my fiance who used to work in the jewellery trade says a K 1/2 would be smaller than his little finger and he has quite small hands. Can you not just buy from a Canadian website?

Ahh, she does have very small hands, yeah. She's only 5ft 3 tall to begin with! But hrrrmm, K 1/2, hrrrmm... I'll look into that a bit more, trouble is, getting the information out of my girlfriend without her tagging onto what I'm up to. But yeah, thanks for the heads up there.
That ring size is probably right. My wedding ring is a size I (capital i). I am 5 ft 5" and have pretty slim fingers so a K1/2 sounds about right.
does she not have any rings that you could take in to a local jewlers they should be able to help you find the correct size, even if you dont intend to buy from them,

any way good luck! hope it goes well.
