cutting tiles

we have had the kitchen tiles, the tiler did not leave suffiicient space around sockets, consequently we cannot fix the socket facias, can you recommend a way to cut or file the tiles to fit the sockets please?

solera is correct. If longer machine screws are used then the front of the socket will fit flush onto the tiles and make a very tidy job. If you remove the what you 'call lack of space 'then the front will be recessed and very difficult to get it to fit perfectly all round. I always do thr tiling for customers this way.
Hi mem Longer screws would not make the aperture any bigger I think the point has been missed in some answers if you file out as J>JJ suggest only the bits that prevent the socket from going in then very carefully drill a slightly larger hole with masonry bit + no hammer for the longer screw to go through that should cure it HTH Tez
