How do I stop badgers digging up my lawn?

Make sure it is badgers....they are normally low on the list of lawn burrowers, particularly at this time of year. Squirrels are very active burrowers about now, though. Assuming you've caught one of them at it....get a dog. Or if not, one of those yard lights that respond to movement. Badgers are shy animals (though some urban ones are a bit rowdy) and dislike loud noises and bright lights. But if you have mystery holes in your lawn that are about 6 inches across and started appearing about a month ago, my money is on the squirrels. In which case a cat or a twelve bore will do nicely. (not protected, fair game)
