is it illegal to leave a skip in a public place (road or car park) without any cones or lights around it?

Any skip left on the road must be lit at night, usually with a flashing light visible from both directions and they should also be licenced by the local council.

Yes I knew someone who left a skip without lights and he was summoned. Better to be safe as you would assume responsibility if a vehicle was to crash into it at night. The skip hirers should give you a lowdown on what is required.

shut up laday velvet what if someone dropped a skip right on the pavement next to your drive so close you risk hitting it with your car bet you'd have a problem with it then
