Non Corgi fitters
2 Answers
Someone we know works for a gas fitting company and is Corgi registered with them. He has quoted us for fitting a new boiler himself but has readily atmitted that he personally does not have Corgi registration. As he works as a Corgi gas fitter for a reputable company should we let him do the same job for us that he does within his company everyday or insist on a corgi registered fitter doing the job?

Your friend and the company he works for are committing a criminal offence if he works with gas while being unqualified (even if he's been doing it for years, he has to be re-assessed every five years to maintain his qualification). Personally, I wouldn't take the risk by having someone unqualified do your gas work just for sake of saving a few quid.
