I am going to fit a new shower, but am confused with the pricing, with some showers costing hundreds of pounds, and others under 100, even though the basic design is the same. What are the differences? does anyone know?

Basically, as with most things, you only get what you pay for. if you are thinking about an electric shower I would personally go for a "mira" shower. These are expensive, but reliable and worth the money. Different showers have different wattage. My mira sport is a 9.8watt, which basically means it heats the water a lot faster than a lower wattage. This in turn gives a better water delivery. I think the mira does a 10.8 watt, but you would need a heavier gauge electric wiring to run this without blowing fuses.age If in any doubt consult an expert for installation. The difference in wattage is one reason for the price difference, also the guarantee period and reliability.
I agree with Kevin
the more expensive showers have the all important thermostatically controlled part a must with youngsters about.
Some also have single button control ideal for those that dont know which knob or button to press.
If your starting from scratch go for the biggest as kevin sujest and then get a few quotes to have that model fitted by a qualified sparky HTH Tez
sorry for the typo, of course the wattages should be kilowatts, not watts. 9.8 watts, not a lot of heat when you think a bulb is 40 watts, lol.
