My washing machine won't drain etc....Any ideas ???

Switch off machine, unplug it and then leave it unplugged for a few hours. This should reset the controller. Ours would not unlock the door and this remedy surprisingly sorted it. (On advice of Hotpoint Customer services - give them a call if still no joy)

Although may be simply something come out of a pocket and jammed the pump

ive had this problem myself, onthe outlet pipe usualy at the bottom and back of the machine, there is a small pump that the hose (outlet pipe )is clipped onto, take off this pipe and see if the pump or pipe is blocked , it is usually a sock

We just paid �159.00 (12 months cover) for a man to come and remove a blockege which was causing water to pour out of the drawer. Check your filter. Be prepared for the water when you empty it. Also please unplug it.

We had an elastic band tangled round our pump which stopped it from draining. My son apparantly stores his elastic band collection in his trouser pocket!!!

Our pump in in a little door at the front of the machine not the back, get the manual out and have a look.

My machine stopped draining and after 3 repair men and a lot of money I dtched it. When the new one had a similar problem, i discovered it was the electricity. It was not installed properly and the machine kept tripping the switch.
I threw out that first machine for no reason.
