worried about condition

i have a disability and i am finding it very hard to keep my job on but i am scared i have a mortgage i cant afford to keep my house on. If i sell my house would i be able to get a council house near my family who will have to look after me. My condition is very rare and it has become progressive. Can i get a house due to my disability.

Is there any reason why you can't rent privately, using any equity from the sale of your house as investment?
How about a rent and buy scheme , councils also do it in sheltered housing ?
Do you have critical illness insurance as part of your mortgage? If so it might be worth checking. Mine paid out when I got Multiple Sclerosis and reduced my mortgage to about �125 per month. It was amazing.
