What windspeed can my fence withstand
4 Answers
My 40 x 80 ft garden is bounded by a 6 x 6 ft lattice fence. With gales forecast, gusting up to 80 mph, can my fence withstand it? What is the highest windspeed that they could withstand? What can I do to stop them blowing away if they can't withstand those speeds - will some sort of tie-downs work?

I'm about 25 miles from the South Coast and its fairly still at the moment. Calm before the storm maybe?

How's the fence??!! Last time we had a day like this, about a year ago, there was a 'world shrortage' of fence panels, with China nicking all the timber apparently!! Supplies didnt get back to normal for about 4 months and when they did, the prices had gone up of course - I had to forward a BBC press release to disbelieving customers to quieten them down!!
