I've had some particularly potent stilton in my fridge for the past week. I've now put it in an airtight container but the fridge still smells like something crawled in and died. I'm sure I've heard / seen somewhere that a particular fruit or vegetable absorbs smells from fridges. Any idea which one?

Try a lemon, cut in half

Will try. Ta.
I've seen Kim and Aggie put half a lemon in a bowl of water and leave it overnight to get rid of smells. Other than that, I can't think of another fruit/veg.
Yup, lemon cut in half or clean the whole fridge out with sodium bicarbonate (quite a good thing to do once in a while).
I have a bicarb snowman which you fill and it keeps the fridge smell free, it has to be changed every month.Well worth the money from betterwear 1.99
Hi

I found some videos that might help you: http://www.sutree.com/Learn.aspx?q=fridge

Hope they work!
Good luck
Just put some bicarbonate of soda in a small dish at the back of your fridge. Should sort it out in 24 hours.

Sodemall10, the smell of wet dog doesn't hurt anyone either. Doesn't mean I want them rolling on my carpet.
