smoke alarm keeps beeping

ok, now im getting annoyed!! not with legend but with the house smoke alarm detector, yes it keeps beeping! it only started when i got back home from work,

yes i know its time to change the battery!! but i cant bloody open the cover to switch it off!! its one of those new ones! with that green light that flashes!! grrr help!!

Hello cuddle, you ok? is it mains operated one, with battery back up? if it is you need to push screwdriver into slot to relese the little catch, then pust it away from the side where you put screwdriver in, it should then slide off of base, have a look and see if it is, Ray

ray, this is a round one :( and i tried it :( but no joy!! it says turn to open but it wont budge! :( where r the men when u need one hu??

i managed to get the round thing off, theres wires hanging ... it says i need to disconnect before changing the batteries :( scarey to me!

Hiya cuddle, knobbys right in all he says, it sounds to me like you have ones with duracell battery in, all you have to do is lever the little bit off the top of battery,, put new one in and put detector back together its pretty easy, good luck with it,

right im not touching it, its p1ssing me off, im not tall enough have no ladder, ive left it hanging, the wires is makin this static sizzling sound .. i dont care anymore burn the house down!! who ever invented these smoke alarm should b shot, cant even put the cover back in, cant they have the normal ones where u just change the batteries??!!!!
