Do you rent your house ?

If so, would you expect your landlady to provide a hoover for you, move furniture at a moments notice, pay your rent 3 days late and not expect to have to pay for those three days ?

Umm I rent a house and ask my landlord and lady for nothing. I hoover my own house, do all repairs. I even put in a driveway which I paid for. I always pay my rent on time so noI wouldn't expect my ladylady to do any of that. Why what's the matter?

we let a house and it's been an understanding from the off that they look after the inside; decoration, etc I would think cleaning was personal hygiene anyway; while we can make repairs to the property and do outside painting.
As to paying 3 days late; I woudn't make an issue if they're paying up just a few days late as there are tenants who don't pay at all......!

I am taking them a hoover today and have made it clear to them that if it doesnt work then they must pay for one themselves.

He has been telling me that he is skint due to the fact that he has had to buy lots of furniture because he didnt like the furniture that was in the house. Burgundy leather 3 peice suite, silver double bed, fitted wardrobes etc. I also gave them 1 month of free gas and electric in leiu of a couple of jobs that had to be done, i.e. fix a cupboard etc but they still havent done this.

Fed up now !

I have often found that renting out a place furnished, a hoover is often provided- and it is kind of in the interests of the landlord to do so, as the place stays in better condition if its cleaned. In an unfurnished, i wouldnt expect one.

With regards to moving furniture, then no, no your responsibility to just do move arounds, and if the tenant decides to buy new stuff as a matter of taste, thats their problem to move or sore your items safely. However if they have to buy items as what was provided wore out, then yes, landlord responsibility. Maybe a silly question, but you do have a tenancy agreement right?? You really need to have one to spell out the rights and responsibilities! If you dont have one, get one sorted now!
