will a wheat plant come up every year from the root or does it grow once and die. reason i ask is because i have a feild which i just bought and has been seeded last autumn with grass but i now have lots of weed growing which was the crop from the year before. does anybody know a good way to get rid of whaet but keep grass as i would like to put my horses in field.

Wheat will sometimes re-appear the next year due to some of the grains from the ear falling to the ground during harvesting. Don't worry about it. Cereal grasses, (wheat, rye,oats,barley), are perfectly edible and are actually beneficial both to animals and humans. They contain similar nutrients to green-leafed vegetables, plus a few more that are said to be very good for you, and for horses too.
