Sticking buttons on Sky remote control

Very annoying!
I am guessing that it is because of a build-up of grime under the buttons (I clean the remote regularly and it isn't grubby looking).
Any ideas of a good way to clean/fix it?

Go to your local Comet or Maplins and you'll find there only a tenner, if that, so buy a new one you skinflint....

I've noticed if you leave a remote control where the sun's pouring in through the window, the buttons tend to stick. By popping it into the fridge they don't stick anymore!! Hope this works.
