Strips of leading on windows

I am house-hunting at the moment and have seen a property that I like, but it has strips of lead over the front windows. Someone has told me that it is easy to remove and then you just clean the windows after to remove all trace.

Has anyone removed lead strips and is it as easy as I have been told. Many thanks in advance.

It should just peel off, or you might have to warm it with a hairdryer or whatever to soften it first.
I have used it on glass before and it has always come off easily enough.
