Leaking Conservatory

Hi guys, I came home last night to find my conservatory leaking, it was a pre-existing one from when we bought the house. There were two main drips, both coming down the wall of our house rather than from a roof panel. I've hung out of the upstairs window and can see the lead from the roof up against the house wall and this looks okay.

Can anyone suggest a sealant to do the job and how we would go about it, as we'd hate to make it worse.

You are going to have to work out where it is coming in (I know that's stating the blindingly obvious). Is it leaking off the (former) outside wall that is below the lintel and now is inside your conservatory?
Alternatives could be:
It is driving up between the lead flashing and the panels
It is getting in as water drips down the wall between the wall and the top of the flashing
It is getting through the outer skin of the cavity wall above the line of the conservatory and because no cavity tray was installed at the lintel the water can't get out again (I hope it isn't this)
The first two can probably be seled best with lead sealant that comes in a tube to work with a dispenser gun - much the same as silicon sealant or decorators' filler comes. Lead sealant is grey in colour and formulated for this application. Wickes certainly do it - Homebase / B+Q may not.

from what you say i would think the water is making its way down the face of your wall(above conservatory) and going in behind the lead then coming down the wall inside the conservatory--i would think there is aproblem where the lead is tacked into the wall (at the places where the leaks are showing)yuo'll prob find this worse when the rain is blowing straightat that wall.To fix-clean out all sealant (clear of dust too)-once you get up you will see the places to be fixed-put in new mastic-using a mastic gun--there are many types on market--explain to shop hand what it is for

Many thanks to you both for the speedy and informative replies. It was dark when I got in last night so I could tell how the rain was hitting the house and if it was running down under the lead flashing. I'll have to get a watering can and water my wall / roof and get the OH to see what he can see. No doubt I'll water him in the process too :)

There�s defiantly some food for thought there and can see how our BH w/e will be taken up.

as mentioned earlier sounds like a dodgy sealent problem to me, if you've got a hose pipe try and focus the flow from the hose on to small areas at a time which may help in finding the gaps in the sealent.
