qualcast mower blade won't budge

does anyone have any idea how i can remove the above which refuses to move i have tried oil wd40 brute force and every tool under the sun with thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Pardon me if some of the descriptions are different, since I'm in the U.S., but if you mean a mower that has an engine on top of the deck powering a blade that rotates underneath, you might want to check and see if the retaining bolt or nut is left handed. Sometimes they are, depending on the rotation direction. Additionally, if you have one of the portable propane torches, heat the bolt/nut for a minute or so then attempt removal... Best of luck!
I suppose you have checked that you are turning the spanner the right way - as some blades are fitted with LH threads!
If its a rotary blade that hasnt been off for a while, then wd 40 should work its way in eventually. As a last resort, a couple of sharp taps with a hammer on the end of the bolt could break the 'seal', but remember it is connected directly to the crank shaft. As a last, LAST resort, you could apply heat, but with petrol about this is a bit dodgy - if it comes to this and rather than b*gger it up, get a lawnmower repair man in, he wont chrage the earth!
