Our not so nice, new neighbours have put up a new fence, giving us the bad side which simply is pain ugly. Shouldn`t they have put the bad side to their side? Anything you can do against this?

It may be of interest to note that where this happens it can be successfully argued that a transfer of land has taken place and that the fence is yours and upon your land. It is only a minor amount of land and the transfer does not have to be in writing. It is a recently decided case = Joyce v Rigoli.
It is the convention for the posts to be on the fence owners side but no more. You could do as ansteyg says but you'd need to build a complete new fence, you can't use their posts without their agreement. Joyce v Rigoli was decided on something quite different and means nothing in this case, that information is wrong
Not so, and building a fence up against another on a joint boundary can attract some expensive nasties. However, simonmorris is happpy with your answer and I shall not debate the matter further.
Maud, it's obvious the fence should be built to the boundary, not on it. Trespass can produce expensive nasties, we agree on that
Claim the fence is yours, and paint your neighbors side yellow.
