I have a big furry pink elephant that I was given 30 years ago. It is about 30cm x 20cm. A big fat stuffed toy. I need to clean it but am not sure the best way to do it! Surely the washing machine is too harsh and would soak it so much that getting it dry would be a nightmare? Advice please!!x

Maybe take it to a Laundrette, where the washers and dryers are much bigger than domestic ones.

Wash it on a cool wash. The spin cycle should remove most of the water. When you remove it, reshape with your hands and put in the dryer, remove every so often to reshape.
spray with upholstery cleaner and wipe with damp cloth. Best not to soak large stuffed toys. PS my Godson just won a 6 foot royal blue and orange dinosaur in a "guess the birthday game" It's 'orrible.
what is it made of/filled with? I have successfully renovated two big soft furry toys by unpicking a seam and taking out all the orrible old stuffing and only washing the skin then restuffing it. It will work fine on manmade fibre cheapie toys but not on the more expensive kind
