I wonder if anyone could tell me if there is a problem with my Eucalyptus tree? I planted it 12 months ago and it has really shot up.. but I have noticed a few days ago, a white powdery substance on the branches...any idea what this is, whats caused it and will it kill it?

IF this powder goes black after a few weeks you could have scale insects on the tree. Have a good look on a few of the leafs. Can you see any scales that look like miniature limpets? If so it can be cleared up with spraying the tree with one of the protection spray oils, but it takes a while to clear up. Spray 3 times 2 weeks apart.

Thanks for that wildwood, no sign yet of insects, I will keep an eye on it over the next few days!
