my floor is not completely level can i still lay the flooring

As long as the lumps and bumps are not too big you should be okay. Make sure you use a proper underlay, such as the green felt-type boards that are normally stocked next to the laminate flooring in DIY shops. These will hide any small defects in your flooring.

If you can afford it, you should lay solid or semi-solid. It looks so much better. Expensive I know, but it looks fantastic and is there for a lifetime.

If it is unlevel, you can buy a floor levelling compound (powder and mix with water) and spread evenly over floor. Leave to set, then lay laminate (preferably click as opposed to glued). Although laminate is cheaper than solid or semi solid, it will not mark/scratch as easy as the solid or semi solid, and it easier to change after a few years.
