We are thinking of getting a boiler put into our fire so it will heat the radiators as we always have it lit in the winter but at the moment we are having to keep the central heating on as well to keep the house warm. Does anyone know how difficult, or hopefully straight forward, this is and how much it is likely to set us back.

Hi 6.............I'm afraid this isn't going to help.............it's almost impossible to say without looking at several things.
Fireplace, flue, surround, proximity to hot water cylinder (or boiler).............in fact...even the layout of the house....................
It's perfectly possible of course, but impossible to estimate from here. Call in a local friendly plumber.......really :o)
