Please does anyone know what the current regulations are about where water tanks should be in blocks of flats? Should they be in each flat, or can they be in the communal roof space? where can i go for guidance please? Many thanks.

If you are talking about cold water tanks, I can't think of any Regs. The closest it gets is in Part G of Building Regs, which talks about a need for a piped cold water supply, but that's all. Phone your local Building Control department at the council to ask for further guidance.
