Contract Law

Hi everyone,

I've just been accepted a job in a law consultancy and the bulk of my work will be contract-based. It's a couple of years since I finished my law degree and any knowledge I had of contract law has now dissipated!! Any recommended texts/internet resources on contract law (if only the fundamentals) would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's books you need to be rereading rather then looking for websites.

How out of date is your contract book, I'm guessing maybe about 5 years?

You could get a Nutshells for a quick update but if you're doing a job which involves contracts and they expect you to know the law then I'd say it's back to the books.

You could always see if there are any courses about as there are always CPD courses on for lawyers to keep up with their development.

Try people like BBP and Altior or College of Law.

They can be quite pricy though so I guess it depends on how much your new employers think you know.

No my new employers know that it's been a while and of course i'll be given extensive training but i don't want to look like a complete amateur when i go in. It's a trainee position so they intend to 'mould' me the company way but i do want to appear somewhat in the know rather than remembering some of the basic principles. I know i came off stupid but i wanted to know of resources other lawyers find particularly good on this area of the law. thanks for the input so far, more welcome...
