Which curtains are suitable?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I have 2 windows in my bedroom which have the old double glazing and want to put up lined curtains up now ready for winter. The thing is our radiator is placed under one of the windows & so not sure which to get, long lined curtains or short ones. I want to keep as much draft out. Any recommendations? Thanks

Well if you get long ones which cover the radiator then the curtains will keep the heat out of the room and in the window.

Even short ones will do this to some extent, the best (but not ideal) remedy is to get short ones and tuck them onto the windowsill when the curtains are drawn.

I have the same problem in my bedrooms, which pillock ever made the decision to put radiators under windows anyway?

Thanks for your reply CheekyChops! It's a nightnare I know having a radiator under the window! We're just want to get something up to keep the draft out! Gonna keep loonkin!

Can you put a shelf over the radiator? This will help deflect the heat in to the room and not out of the window.

Obviously you want short curtains.

Consider a roller blind that is slightly wider than the window as well - that will also help keep the draughts out

Hi, You can get curtains made with interlining which makes them so much thicker and they will keep the heat in for sure.
