Best paint for Aluminium garage door

What paint is suitable to use on my garage door - its been rubbed down but do I need a metal primer as well?

Having sprayed cars & having a South facing house, I would say yes. Try & buy a metal "etching" primer, which will give a good foundation for the (undercoat, if you want to do it really properly) and/or the topcoat. Otherwise the heat of the sun will rapidly peel off your nice new topcoat.
