I have moved into a new house with a noisy boiler. The boiler is new but it is in my study. How can I shield it or something to quieten it down?

If it's a gas boiler I'd get a gas engineer to check it out - you can never safely do any work yourself on a gas appliance. They can check all the components and make sure it's working right. If you're talking about a hot water cylinder (many people get the 2 confused) then a decent thick airing cupboard door could be the answer or if the noises are bubbling type sounds the thermostat might need changing so you could get and electrician to have a look. Failing that if it's a hot water cylinder it could be an airlock (hammering/vibrating noise) that a plumber can sort out. Hope some of this helps!
