After using my washing machine in its Spin mode this morning I was disconerted to discover what looked like either smoke or steam coming out of the open door when I removed the washing. I've never noticed steam before and am worried it might have been smoke.
Can anybody suggest what might be the cause and what I should do now? I'm a little worried about using it again in case it might have been smoke rather than steam.

If it was smoke you'd smell it - the laundry would stink of it too.

If you put hot washing in on a spin cycle, it could create steam.
if you do find that it is smoke and you have an up to date electrical installation covered with MCB fuses and a RCD mains trip then any serious fault would trip the Distribution Board serving that area of the property if on the other hand you have old rewire-able fuses then that could result in more serious consequences with burnt cables etc either way you ought to consider getting a sparky in to do a PAT (portable appliance test) survey on it hth Tez
want brand is it?
chances are, the module or motor could of blown
